2019 Nominated MHC Board Member Bios

Chris White for Social - Chris is currently social chair and has served in this position for a number of years.  Chris and his wife, Peggy, are long-time MHC members and have five children, Megan, Maura, Matt, Mike and Mark, all of whom have taken advantage of the benefits that Mansion House has to offer. Chris is a realtor with Long and Foster. 

Gerri Madrid-Davis for Secretary - Gerri, Omar, Dulcie and Gracie Davis moved to the Mount Vernon area in 2008 and became members of MHC in 2009.  Dulcie and Gracie are active in summer swim.  Gerri is originally from Colorado, graduating from Metropolitan State University of Denver with degrees in Anthropology and Multicultural Women's Studies, and completed graduate school in public policy at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs.   Gerri works in DC at AARP in Government Affairs and enjoys spending time at the pool with family and friends.   

Walter Stankewick for Pool Ops - Walter and his family have lived in the area since 2004 and have been members of MHC since 2006.  They have three children, all who are members of the swim team, one who participates on the dive team and one who participates in tennis.  Walter is originally from New York, where he swam competitively while in high school and worked as a lifeguard and a swim instructor during college.  He moved to Washington, DC to attend graduate school. Currently Walter works in business development for a government contractor. 

Ashleymarie Cook for Membership - Ashleymarie grew up in South Georgia and is a graduate of the University of Georgia where she studied Animal Science/Veterinary Medicine.  After spending many years working with large and small animals, she met her husband and moved to the other side of the world as a proud Navy wife.  Ashleymarie, her husband, Sean, and their two daughters, Penelope and Meredith, currently reside in the Mt Vernon area of Alexandria where they recently bought a house.  She will have her State of Virginia realtor license in March and has plans to join the Keller Williams Real Estate Team.  Ashleymarie really enjoys meeting new people and is looking forward to being apart of the Board as membership chair.   

Johanna Seltzer for Treasurer -  Johanna is originally from Bethesda, Maryland where she swam for the Bannockburn Dolphins (age 9-15), then worked at area pools as a lifeguard for three summers.  She moved into arts administration a few years after obtaining a bachelors degree in Dance from the University of Maryland, and served as Managing Director of Joy of Motion Dance Center and Project Director of Dance/MetroDC, a service organization for the dance community of the metro area. Johanna spent several years as a consultant with an emphasis on finance, working for organizations such as Smith Center for Healing and the Arts, See Forever Foundation, Women's Campaign Fund, and Mom Made Foods.  Additional experience in marketing provided opportunities for work with the Dance Heritage Coalition, Virginia Yoga Week and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington, to name a few.  Johanna is currently the Director of Finance and Administration for the Atlas Performing Arts Center, a nonprofit organization in northeast DC.  A certified Yoga instructor, Johanna enjoys a regular morning practice to start the day on the right foot.  She lives in Mt. Vernon Manor with her husband, Courtney, and two children, Matthew and Emma.
